The national park is just 7 km away, while the cottage also boasts a beautiful setting in its own right. You can start hiking right from your doorstep. Or take your mountain bike, which can be securely parked in the garage. You can also charge your e-bike overnight in the garage. If you'd rather not bring along your own bike, you can rent a bike or e-bike.
Sasbachwalden - award-winning wine village with fine dining
The centre of the wine-growing village of Sasbachwalden is only 5 km away, offering excellent restaurants from haute cuisine to refined country restaurants, wine bars, cafes, an award-winning bakery, a small supermarket and an excellent butcher's. And just 5 minutes' walk from the cottage you will find two inns with sensational views of the Rhine valley.
Baden-Baden - culture and wellness nearby
Baden-Baden and its famous "Caracalla " and "Friedrichsbad" spas, with beautiful cafes, top restaurants, the casino and the "Festspielhaus", can be reached in 45 minutes. The Alsatian city of Strasbourg is only a 55-minute drive away. A day trip to the Alsatian wine-growing villages is well worth the short journey.
A whole array of winter sports
From the Chalet Bergweide you can reach all major ski lifts in the northern Black Forest in 15 minutes: Seibelseckle, Unterstmatt, Mehliskopf and Ruhestein. In addition, there is an extensive network of trails for cross-country skiers in the immediate vicinity, interesting snowshoe hike tours (also guided) with snowshoe hire, a toboggan run, an outdoor skating rink and more besides.
